Heartland Dulcimer Club

The Heartland Dulcimer Club is a group of musicians who enjoy playing traditional instruments. The club meets at 6:30 pm on the first and third Monday of every month (excluding major holidays) at the First Presbyterian Church, 1016 Pear Orchard Road in Elizabethtown KY. Instrument’s include: Mountain and Hammered Dulcimer, guitar, banjo, autoharp, ukulele, fiddle, mandolin, harmonica, and more. The group plays a variety of music from traditional to classical.

The club started in 1994. Each year, the HDC sponsors a weekend festival for like-minded musicians. The festival is normally held on the first weekend in November. The event begins on Friday night with vendors, a meal, and jam sessions. On Saturday, there are instructional sessions with well-known artists from around the country. The event peaks with a concert on Saturday evening by the artist/instructors and the Heartland Dulcimer Club Orchestra. The concert from the 2017 festival was featured on Kentucky Educational Television.

The club recommends that musicians interested in joining the club attend some meetings prior to deciding to join. Current members may go to the membership tab for calendar, news events, music and all the club happenings.
