Heartland Dulcimer Club

The Heartland Dulcimer Club is a group of musicians who enjoy playing traditional instruments. The club meets at 6:30 pm on the first and third Monday of every month (excluding major holidays) at the First Presbyterian Church, 1016 Pear Orchard Road in Elizabethtown KY. Instruments are acoustic and include: Mountain and Hammered Dulcimer, guitar, banjo, autoharp, ukulele, fiddle, mandolin, harmonica, and more. The group plays a variety of music from traditional to classical.

The club started in 1994. Each year, the HDC sponsors a weekend festival for like-minded musicians. The festival is normally held on the first weekend in November. The event begins on Friday night with vendors, a meal, and jam sessions. On Saturday, there are instructional sessions with well-known artists from around the country. The event peaks with a concert on Saturday evening by the artist/instructors and the Heartland Dulcimer Club Orchestra. The concert from the 2017 festival was featured on Kentucky Educational Television.
